Despite criticism and skepticism from some community members, the group has made tremendous strides in promoting confidence, bravery, and self-expression among its young participants.

In addition to their local efforts, the Ethiopian Girl Skaters have also gained international recognition. Representatives from the group have attended the Euro Conference in Montpellier, France, and have even met with the Ambassador of Japan and the American Embassy in Ethiopia. These connections have raised the group's profile and opened up new opportunities for collaboration and support.

Celebrating Adwa Victory.

In March 2024, the Ethiopian Girl Skaters celebrated the 128th anniversary of the Battle of Adwa, a historic victory for Ethiopia against Italian colonial forces. This celebration powerfully reminded the country of its rich history and the importance of preserving its cultural heritage.

Reaching Displaced Communities.

One of the group's most inspiring initiatives is its outreach work with displaced kids in areas such as Asosa. Taking their skateboarding program to these communities brings joy, excitement, and a sense of connection to kids experiencing uncertainty and displacement.
